I love Marian Keyes! Sometimes I need to read something that I know will end happily and with closure. You follow her characters as they discover themselves and take control of their lives (after a lot of falling down).
She is definitely chick lit, but often her stories turn out to carry quite a bit of depth, with topics like drug abuse, alcoholism, dealing with death, abusive relationships, etc.
I cried a lot for Anybody Out There, but Rachel's Holiday remains my fav.
