Stephen King comes down to Boston every year during whatever is the longest homestand the Red Sox has and goes to every game. He always stays at the hotel my mom works at, in the same room. He and my mom have struck up a quasi-friendship and he signed my copy of Carrie for me. My mom didn't even know he was famous until she saw his picture on the back of one of my books and said, "I know that man. He's one of my guests and all he ever does is type on the computer." My mom says he's one of the nicest guests she's ever had and he's incredibly humble. That just makes me love him more

I felt bad asking my mom to have him sign my book because she's really not allowed to do that, but she said he didn't mind!
