The thread, as has been stated previously, is NOT FAT thread, but SUpers have 5 threads in their stitching, completing the look. Hemming can be done using the sandwich method, and this will not affect the twisted seam, BUT the look will be somewhat different due to no one having sewing machines that can sew with 5 threads except TR.
The hemming is not really that big a deal, and no one really notices it that much. WHen I hem mine, and it will be soon, it isn't going to matter that much. NO one examines the bottom half inch of anyones pants with much degree of close inspection, IMO of course.
