Holy POOP! I have altered most of my jeans (mostly permanently too). I paid for them, and I'll alter them as needed.
Hell, I even alter jeans my tailor won't touch!
Usually I alter the thighs, etc. without cutting until I decide they look right...then snip snip!
VERY VERY rarely do I have jeans fit me right out of the box.
