Sort of on this topic, Mark Vestergan director of strength training for the NFL, recommends hot/cold showers after a workout, and in general as a part of active recovery. I've heard of other trainers doing this, basically to get the blood moving, so ie jump in the snow for a bit, hot tub for a bit . . . so I don't know if that long is healthy but if you were to run out take a cold shower and then get back in a few times, that'd be good for ya
